Eligibility Criteria for UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024:

1. Nationality: Applicants must be citizens of India.

2. Educational Qualification: Candidates should possess a degree from any recognized Central or State University in India or possess an equivalent qualification.

3. Age Limit:

  • Minimum Age: Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years as of August 1, 2024.
  • Maximum Age: Candidates must not have attained the age of 32 years as of August 1, 2024.

4. Upper Age Relaxation:

  • Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST): Candidates belonging to SC/ST category are eligible for a relaxation of up to 5 years in the upper age limit.
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC): OBC candidates are eligible for a relaxation of up to 3 years in the upper age limit.
  • Defence Services Personnel: Candidates who have served in the Defence Services and were disabled in operations during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof are eligible for a relaxation of up to 3 years in the upper age limit.
  • Ex-servicemen: Ex-servicemen, including commissioned officers and ECOs/SSCOs who have rendered at least five years of military service, are eligible for a relaxation of up to 5 years in the upper age limit.
  • Persons with Disabilities (PwD): Candidates with disabilities such as blindness and low vision, deaf and hard of hearing, locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy, autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability, mental illness, and multiple disabilities including deaf-blindness are eligible for a relaxation of up to 10 years in the upper age limit.
