Candidates must be:
An Indian Citizen.
A subject of Nepal or Bhutan.
A Tibetan refugee who settled in India before 1st January 1962.
A person of Indian origin who migrated from Myanmar, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, or East African countries.
A Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized university.
Final-year students can also apply but must provide their degree certificate before selection.

The UPSC CAPF selection process consists of three stages:
Written Examination – Objective-type questions (Paper 1 & Paper 2)
Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – Running, Long Jump, Shot Put, etc.
Interview/Personality Test – Conducted by UPSC
