UPSC Mains Exam Date 2024

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is responsible for conducting the Civil Service Examination every year to recruit eligible candidates in All India Services and various Central Civil Services. The exam consists of three stages: Prelims Exam, Mains Exam, and Interview. The second stage of the recruitment exam will be conducted only for those candidates who have been declared qualified in the prelims exam. UPSC Mains Exam Schedule 2024

This year, a total of 14,627 candidates have qualified in the UPSC Prelims exam and are now eligible to appear for the mains exam. The UPSC CSE Mains Exam is a descriptive type consisting of 09 papers for a total of 1750 marks. As per the UPSC Calendar 2024, the mains exam will be held from 20th September 2024 onwards. With the mains exam near, candidates are reminded to pull their socks up and revise the syllabus to crack the exam. The final merit list of candidates will be prepared based on the candidates’ total marks secured in the mains and interview.

UPSC Mains Exam Schedule 2024

The UPSC Mains Exam 2024 will consist of 09 papers which are held in multiple shifts. The time duration of each paper is 03 hours. Except for the Essay paper, the exam will be held in two shifts from 9 am to 12 noon and 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The shift timing, exam venue, exam date, etc. will be notified through the candidate’s respective admit card.

UPSC Mains Exam Pattern 2024

UPSC CSE 2024 main examination consists of 9 papers with different subjects. All papers are descriptive type. Paper A, Indian language, and Paper B, English are qualifying in nature. The total marks scored in the mains exam Paper I, II, III, IV, V, VI, and VII will be counted in the final merit list. Each paper will be held for 03 hours.
