Candidates are shortlisted for engagement based on a system-generated merit list. The merit list is prepared based on marks obtained/conversion of grades/points to marks in the Secondary School Examination of the 10th standard from approved Boards, with accuracy to four decimal places. It is mandatory for candidates to pass all subjects as per the respective board norms.
For candidates with a 10th standard mark sheet displaying both marks and grades/points, only the total marks are considered by aggregating all compulsory and elective/optional subjects (excluding extra subjects, if any). This ensures that candidates with higher marks are selected.
For candidates with only grades, marks are calculated for each subject by applying a multiplication factor of 9.5 as follows:
