TN SET 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates were advised to carefully go through the TN SET Notification 2024 PDF to ensure their eligibility for the TN SET Exam 2024. TNSET Educational Qualification:
Applicants are required to hold a Master’s Degree or its equivalent from institutions recognized by the UGC, attaining a minimum of 55% marks for the general category and 50% marks for Scheduled Caste (SC)/SC(A), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Disability (PwD), or Third gender category.
Ph.D. degree holders who have completed their Master’s level examination by September 19, 1991, irrespective of the date of the result declaration, were eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks for appearing in TNSET. This means that the minimum required marks for eligibility were reduced from 55% to 50%.
Candidates who appeared for their qualifying Master’s degree (final year) examination and whose result was still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations were delayed were also eligible to apply for this test.

TNSET Exam Pattern 2024
The examination comprised two papers: Paper I and Paper II. Paper I was common to all candidates, while Paper II was based on the PG subject chosen by the candidates (as given in the TNSET list of subjects). Both papers were only of objective type and multiple choice questions (MCQ) in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. The time duration for the exam was 03 hours, with no break between the papers. The medium of the Question Paper was in English only except for Paper II of language subjects (Tamil, Arabic, Hindi, Malayalam, Sanskrit, Telugu, and Urdu). Incorrect answers did not incur any negative marks. The exam pattern details were as follows:
