School Holidays 2024: Educational institutions in various states across India will be closed to observe the auspicious occasions of Durga Ashtami and Ram Navami. The state governments of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, and Delhi have declared school holidays on April 17, 2024.
This decision aims to facilitate the participation of students, teachers, and staff in the religious celebrations with their families. Meanwhile, the Haryana government has instructed all schools to open with a two-hour delay on April 16, 2024. This adjusted timing applies to both students and teachers.

Uttar Pradesh: The state government has declared a holiday on April 17, 2024, to mark the religious significance of the festival of Ram Navami.
Bihar: A special closure has been announced by the government for Ram Navami to ensure the participation of students and teachers in the religious festivities on April 17, 2024.
Delhi: The Directorate of Education (DoE), Delhi, has incorporated the holiday of Ram Navami in the recent academic calendar released for students and teachers.
Haryana: The Directorate of School Education (DoSE) has issued a directive to all district education officers and district elementary education officers, indicating a change in school timings for Durga Ashtami. All schools in Haryana are instructed to open with a two-hour delay on April 16, 2024, to allow students, teachers, and staff to celebrate the festival.
Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Schools in UP Closed on April 19
The first phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 is scheduled to commence on April 19, 2024. As part of the election process, schools in specific regions of Uttar Pradesh will remain closed on April 19, 2024. The voting process will take place in Saharanpur, Kairana, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Nagina, Moradabad, Rampur, and Pilibhit regions.
