RRB ALP Exam Schedule 2024: CBT 1, CBT 2, and CBAT Dates Announced

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released a notice outlining the tentative schedule for the RRB Assistant Loco Pilots (ALP) exam 2024. Candidates who have applied for the 18,799 ALP vacancies can now anticipate the exam dates and plan their preparation accordingly.

Important Dates for RRB ALP Exam 2024

According to the official notice, the RRB ALP CBT 1 is slated to occur between July and August 2024, with CBT 2 following in September 2024. The CBAT exam is scheduled for November 2024, and the document verification process will commence in November or December 2024. The exact dates will soon be available on the official RRB website at https://www.rrbcdg.gov.in/.

Overview of the RRB ALP Exam Stages

The RRB ALP exam is a national-level examination conducted to fill Assistant Loco Pilots positions across various railway zones in India. The selection process comprises multiple stages:

CBT Stage 1:

  • Subjects: Mathematics, Mental Ability, General Science, General Awareness
  • Number of Questions: 75
  • Marks: 75
  • Duration: 60 minutes

CBT Stage 2:

  • Part A:
    • Subjects: Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Science, Basic Science and Engineering
    • Number of Questions: 100
    • Marks: 100
    • Duration: 90 minutes
  • Part B:
    • Subjects: Relevant Trade
    • Number of Questions: 75
    • Marks: 75
    • Duration: 60 minutes
  • Note: Part B is qualifying in nature, while Part As marks are crucial for progressing to the next stages and are included in the final selection.

Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT):

  • Language: English and Hindi
  • Negative Marking: None
  • Weightage: 70% from Part A of CBT 2 and 30% from CBAT
  • Merit List: Only candidates who pass the CBAT are considered for the final merit list.

Qualifying Marks

Candidates must achieve the following minimum qualifying marks:

  • UR: 40%
  • OBC: 30%
  • SC: 30%
  • ST: 25%

For the CBAT, candidates need to score at least 42 marks to qualify.
