Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) ALP Eligibility Criteria 2024: Age Limit, Educational Qualification, and More

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) conducts examinations to recruit Assistant Loco Pilots (ALP) for various railway zones across the country. Ensuring eligibility according to the set criteria is crucial for candidates aspiring to apply for the RRB ALP post. The eligibility criteria for RRB ALP 2024 include factors such as age limit, educational qualification, nationality, and medical standards.

RRB ALP Eligibility Criteria 2024:

Age Limit:

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 30 Years (As on 01.07.2024)
• Ex-Servicemen (UR & EWS): 3 years
• Ex-Servicemen (OBC & NCL): 6 years
• Ex-Servicemen (SC & ST): 8 years
• Persons with Disabilities (PWD) UR: 10 years
• PWD OBC Non-Creamy Layer: 13 years
• PWD SC/ST: 15 years
• Various relaxations for candidates based on category, domicile, and service length.

Educational Qualification:

For Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) - Electrical/Mechanical:

• Matriculation / SSLC plus ITI from recognized institutions of NCVT/SCVT
• OR Matriculation / SSLC plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship
• OR 3 years Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile Engineering
• OR Combination of various streams of these Engineering disciplines from a recognized Institution in lieu of ITI.

Nationality:

• A citizen of India
• A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962
• A person of Indian origin who has permanently settled in India after migrating from specified countries
• Nepali and Bhutanese subjects

Medical Standards (2024):

Medical Standard - A-1:

• Physically fit in all respects
• Distance Vision: 6/6, 6/6 without glasses with fogging test
• Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 without glasses
• Physically fit in all respects
• Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses (lens power not to exceed 4D)
• Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses
• Physically fit in all respects
• Distance Vision and Near Vision standards vary
